Perdido Beach Resort
One of our largest murals to date, this 90 foot long wall features local seashells painted at a giant scale.

Perdido Beach Resort is a high-end beachfront resort in Orange Beach, Alabama. The PBR team was looking for a way to transform their loading dock, an area with heavy foot traffic that needed beautification, color, and life. The selected wall posed many challenges, the main one being its rough stucco texture. Heavily textured walls often limit the level of detail a mural can receive, since fine details are distorted by texture and the artwork will most likely not be appreciated by the viewer.

This challenge became the main inspiration for the mural: from afar, the stucco looked like sand from above. Given the sheer size of the wall, the detail problem was solved by using scale and viewing distance to paint a realistic and impactful mural. Seashells native to the Gulf Coast were selected to create a sense of place, and secret items were hidden among the giant seashells, turning the mural into a giant, interactive game for travelers of all ages to play.
