Hellcat Hangar
Using a monochromatic filter, the hands painted in the mural look like a photo. It is a study in color value and color tone, where the jump from hue to hue maintains the correct color value.

This mural celebrates Pensacola’s rich aviation history, and the people who pass this knowledge on to new generations The hangar was used to house Hellcat planes during World War II, and the hands in the mural belong to a former Navy pilot. The hands indicate two planes flying in formation.
