Today, the beautiful location features freshly brewed coffee creations, handcrafted beverages, a full bar, and sweet and savory crepes. The intricate mural in the coffee shop hallway is an Art Nouveau representation of the coffee belt – the region around the equator where coffee beans grow. This region is delimited by the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn, represented as idealized women with astrological symbols, framing in the mural. The three central sections represent America, Africa and Asia, with coffee trees and the national birds of coffee growing countries.
Additional symbols were painted in each section to hint at the different aromas that region-specific coffees tend to be known for.
In the roastery, three posters were designed to represent the main attributes that define a coffee profile: Body, Acidity, and Aroma. These three subjective qualities were once again represented as idealized women, following the store’s Art Nouveau theme. The posters combine original watercolor paintings, digital artwork, and gold leaf guilding.
