Baptist Hospital Hands

This installation of 20 hand portraits is located at the new Baptist Hospital facility in Pensacola, Florida. The series is called “Hands of Healthcare.” It aims to show the humanity behind the healthcare structure.

The hands depicted in the drawings belong to Baptist healthcare workers from every walk of life, including doctors, nurses, clerical workers, transporters, and the many people it takes to run a hospital. The hands are painted with no gloves on, and the props are purposely translucent, so as to focus the viewer’s attention on the hands and not the tools.
